Commercial Systems International Ltd has been successfully installing glazing and cladding systems successfully for over 20 years and has developed a reputation for innovative design and a positive, proactive approach to problem solving. We are able to service the most stringent of design and programme demands from clients, main contractors and Architects alike.


We are equipped to carry out projects up to £2m as well as the smaller more bespoke projects. We give each the same commitment to meet the Architect's vision with cost engineered solutions. Our goal is to complete the project on time and within budget.


CSI are approved to manufacture and install a comprehensive range of glazing and cladding systems e.g. Sapa, Schuco, Reynaers, Metalplast etc. - all of which are CWCT compliant.


We are SBD registered and offer the following "add on" building elements:-

Central 40 - Basingstoke

This project has recently been completed. It utilised an aluminium curtain-walling grid to cover the complete envelope with insulated panels behind prefabricated cedar and aluminium panels. This obviated the need for separate block or stud work on the inside and allowed the shifting of surfaces on each floor without loosing the advantage of full CW mullions spans across 3 floors. The staircases, plant room were clad in a more traditional manner.

Crown Wharf - London

Over the last 6 years CSI have closely worked with London green Developments to design and provided innovative glazing solutions within a tight budget. Crown wharf was the latest completed residential development adjacent to the Olympic village. The project comprises of a large amount of aluminium doors (standard and fire rated), windows and large expanses of complicated capless curtain walling. In addition CSI designed and engineered bespoke glass Juliet balconies which were fitted directly to the doors and CW where required.

Custard Factory - Birmingham

CSI utilised Reynears standard curtain walling framework throughout and designed a suit of special mullion and transom caps to give additional width and depth to the façade. To give continuity to the architectural language CSI designed a simple range of door sections which were extruded in bulk to keep costs to a minimum. The steel balcony and masts were laterally supported by the Curtain walling.

Gateway - Basingstoke

Value: £330,000

Gateway was the first project that CSI undertook with MACE and their client MEPC. The building is situated on the entrance to the Chineham Park and in every aspect reinforces the high quality of facilities and services provided within the business park. The complete envelope is supported by a SAPA Curtain walling matrix into which clear and large opaque glass panels are fitted. The perimeter panels are attached to a separate support system. The building successfully achieved the exceptional air leakage criteria set by MEPC as part of the high end performance and environmental considerations.

CSI also manufactured and erected the plant room and the spiral escape staircase with refuge landings.

This project used Pre-patinated copper panels and aluminium curtain walling. It combined this with stainless steel and exclusive cast aluminium feature brise soleil. The project won a prestigious aluminium award

The Hull College project for HBG consists of 3 buildings, comprising Curtain Walling, windows, doors, brise soleil and automatic doors. The particular challenge on this project was the curved 'Bull nose' element of both glazed areas and the associated metal work.

We were heavily involved in the design of a new panel system with bespoke gaskets carries. We provided and fixed all the support structures, the super soft pressed aluminum panels and perforated steel internal linings, windows, doors, screens, roof lights and plant room pods.

Island Wharf - Hull

The Humber Quays project at Island Wharf Hull, for Caddick Construction was constructed using CSI's disc fixing system, the project also included anodised panelling, louvres, and automatic doors, all designed to withstand a highly exposed riverfront location.

Lincoln Museum - Lincoln

This project comprised of 3 Bronze anodised rooflight elements, and vertical curtain walling. The rooflight sections were supported by 'bow string' type steel rafters.

The glass had a custom frit pattern, and in places special oversized units, this glass was held in place using CSI's stainless steel disc system.

Lister Mills - roof penthouse

We worked closely with the engineers Price & Myers who were involved on this project for both the client (Urban Splash) and ourselves.

Through accurate 3D modeling, prototyping and design development we cost effectively produced offsite the very complicated double curvature timber roof structures together with the complicated glazing infill (the project is estimated to be completed February 09).

Martello Tower - Ipswich

Piercy Conner Architects converted the 19th century military building into a weekend retreat. The design features an ellipse shape, which sits perfectly parallel to the masonry tower, separated by a glazed section to achieve the illusion of floatation.

To practical bring the concept from paper to reality within budget CSI developed a prefabrication strategy for the complete roof and glazing. The realisation involved the use of 3d Cad works combined with prototyping and factory based trial assemblies.

Milton Park - Abingdon

The office building is situated within Milton Business Park. Apart from the brickwork and roof CSI took on the full envelop. The scope of work comprised of curtain walling with projecting brise soleil in front and coloured glass slivers, Glass Reglit planks, Trespa cladding, columns and soffit and a prefabricated entrance lobby complete with automated doors and roof. As part of cost engineering at the tender stage we managed to support the projecting brise soleil two thirds up the window without the requirement for additional steelwork and cables. CSI also had to develop specific details and cill conditions to ensure that the exceptionally stringent air leakage values set by MACE were achieved.

In close collaboration with OBP we have developed a range of unique products in the field of pre-fabrication and industrial design. We are not bound by the restraints of mass production and as such we can cater for a range of standard and bespoke products from glass components, balustrades, staircases to high specification toilet facilities, small hotels and 'add-on' roof accommodation.

We pride ourselves with our ability to cost effectively design, prototype and manufacture modular solutions in house.

Norwich Theatre Royal - Norwich

The project was a refurbishment of the existing theatre. Additional external public area was achieved by extending the 1st floor out and over the pavement. Formed copper was turned around the corners on the auditorium and silver aluminium cladding panels and areas of glazing surfaced the extension on all sides. We also provided the frameless light boxes and freestanding glass balustrades.

The Spine House is an amalgamation of the old and the new. Glass, aluminium, Zink and timber interface neatly via innovative details and hidden fixings. Reynaers was used for the general Curtain walling and Schuco sections for the roof glazing which skirts both sides of the penetrating fuselage. The glazing system was designed to movie with the timber structure penetrating the façade.

The Arc - Stockton

CSI secured the contract after a number of design submission at tender stage. We were forewarned that part of the installation would have to include a rotating sculpture to be integrated within the sloping CW, brise soleil and mansafe equipment.

The 8m diameter sculpture was still in the concept stage when the creator and artist joined with WS Atkins, Price & Myers and CSI to realise his dream. The sculpture was all built in our factory in Hull and was formed from a series of curbed elements bolted together with render cladding and glazing hung from the same.

The Deep - Hull

CSI were involved with the glazing to both the visitor and business centre on this prestige development on the bank of the Humber in Hull. Our close proximity to the site and understanding of the complete project assisted in the negotiations with the architects Terry Farrell Associates. We were able to fully assist the architect in the choice of system and details to withstand the marine environment and exposed location without compromising the aesthetic and functional visions.
